PROJECT Moocall Heat

Bullish design

When design for extreme environments is taken to the limit

The Moocall Heat is the newest product from the innovative bovine IoT company, Moocall. Unlike existing bovine fertility monitoring systems; Moocall Heat is a world first, where the focus of fertility management is on the Bull.

Moocall Heat uses a smart collar fitted to a bull’s neck in conjunction with specially designed ear tags to alert farmers to when a cow is in heat, anywhere in the world. Moocall’s innovation was to harness nature, and the bull’s natural tendency to exhibit an interest in a cow in heat, to develop a radically new approach to fertility management.

It was also a significant design challenge as bulls’ are not known for being fond of wearing man made technology. This was ‘design for extreme environments’ taken to the limit.
