We are delighted that our design collaborations with GUINNESS and MERLYN have received 3 coveted IDI Awards, placing Dolmen as the most successful entrant at the 2021 awards and recognising our team’s passionate pursuit of excellence in breakthrough product design.
The Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI) Awards is the pinnacle award competition for design professionals in Ireland and we are extremely proud that the judging panel recognized that all three of Dolmen’s entries met the high bar of exceptional international design this year.

GUINNESS MicroDraught:
Winner of this year’s IDI Award for Industrial Product Design.
GUINNESS MicroDraught is “GUINNESS’ biggest dispense innovation since the launch of the ‘widget’ 30 years ago”. Following on from our 2019 Grand Prix win in the DBA design effectiveness awards, our long standing collaboration with the GUINNESS Global Brand Team has continued at pace to deliver a truly breakthrough innovation.
MicroDraught miniaturises the dispense of GUINNESS to its very essence, leaving just two elements: a pint-sized beer keg and a compact, counter-top dispense device. The system uses a patented dual-piercing technology to deliver beautiful GUINNESS every time to bars and restaurants around the world, no matter their size or setup.
The judges’ thoughts: “Deliver an experience with a strong presence and minimal infrastructure? …Nailed it!”

MERLYN revo
Winner of this year’s IDI award for Furniture Product Design & IDI Special Award for Universal Design.
Our collaboration with MERLYN on their revo shower storage and support system was the only product to win in two categories, cementing MERLYN’s position as the UK & Ireland’s number 1 shower brand.
revo is a multifunctional, modular and adaptable bathroom storage system that provides a steadying hand to all the family; yet it delivers on this broad range of user needs in an uncompromised sleek and stylish design befitting a place within even the most exquisite of bathrooms worldwide.
The judging panel recognized this phenomenal accomplishment with the following comments:
“the functional aspects of the design were clearly driven by the special needs of key consumers, yet the aesthetic and execution deliver a product experience that does not feel compromised.”
