A global design collaboration that delivered creativity on tap

We’ve been working with Diageo for over a decade and the Guinness project was a culmination of months of hard work with the Diageo team to deliver a groundbreaking new design to bars around the world.

Bringing light
from the darkness

The design brief was to ‘create a beacon bringing light from the darkness’ and the final design does just that, in a big, bold iconic form that is unmistakably Guinness – the harp.

We make sure that everything we design considers ease of access, maintenance, installation and that it is built to optimise manufacturability at scale whilst still presenting the 'one of a kind' craftsmanship of Guinness.

Iterative prototyping
to get it just right

During the prototype stage we had to test a variety of materials, forms and functions to ensure that the final result would be fit for purpose.

The final result is a series of beautiful, foundry cast, brass-plated harps crafted from premium materials; each illuminated from the core via a deep dark translucent composite that optically refracts to create a rich ruby hue, just like a glass of Guinness.
